Photo-Sort App Reviews

Does not add folders in iPad

If you create folders with this app, they do not show up in "Photos"

Great app

As a professional photographer, I use this app daily for photo inspiration on shoots. While researching I can easy save images and sort them by type. Only app Ive found that does this. Also allows to save multiple photos at once from the photo roll, as well as email multiple photos at once.

Dont buy for iPad

I was instantly disappointed with this app. It only comes up iPhone size, in Portrait and doesnt rotate. You can expand to 2x, but Im finding that if you need to do a lot of typing, thats really only pleasant in Landscape mode. The iPad keyboard is just a little too small in Portrait mode, so if you expect to re-able a bunch of photos, dont buy this app unless you have tiny hands.

Not quite

The basic idea and execution is there but there are critical features missing. *Cant select groups of images to import into folders (we have 3K images, Im not going to do this one at a time) *Its unclear when selecting images which images have been selected, their visual status remains unchanged. *Folders are not seen in the iPads Photo app. *Viewing images within this app is unsatisfactory, theres a two to three second screen redraw that leaves the images looking aliased and rough.

Waste of time.

Pictures wouldnt transfer over in groups. Realized a delay whenever I wanted to delete the duplicate photos copied. Really disappointed. I just deleted it after 15mins of aggrevation. Two thumbs down

DO NOT BUY THIS!

Just tried purchasing this (despite all the bad reviews). It would not even work on my iphone. Now I cant even get the icon in gray reading "waiting" off my phone. This is total and complete garbage.

Upside Down ?

Seems ok, but why does it present the thumbnail image correctly, then flip each specific photo upside down ? Agree with other criticisms on slowness, no check boxes before moving, a few at a time etc.

Great app!

I bought it after seeing it on utube. I read the reviews but purchased anyways. Most of the negative things written were either because people didnt first get familiar with it before slamming it and/or havent updated the app. This app ROCKS! its very easy to learn, really takes off where Apple stopped and gives you lots of ways to organize and name photos including email, facebook, and more. A phone shouldnt be where people store 3,000 photos as a primary storage medium anyways so I dont get the argument some people made about it being laborious and slow. Look, its not a $50 software bundle so it shouldnt be critiqued as such... Expectations seem to run a bit over reasonable on here sometimes. Try it! (no, I didnt design it and I have no connection to whoever did) ;)-

Works good...

The interface to move photos around is a little goofy, but it seems to work really well. I like it.

This app is stupid!!!!!!!

Do NOT waste your money dose not work at all and hard to figure out! I deleted it the same day I got it! 

Nice App

Very nice App,Takes a little while to get used to,but it will do everything you want, bought other Apps to put pictures in folders, and this is by far the best.

Turns the iPhone into a better machine

Photo-Sort lets you assign names to your photos on the iPhone and, even better, lets you transfer photos between your iPhone and your Mac WITHOUT using iTunes and iPhoto. Being able to organize photos and sketches on the fly makes the iPhone significantly more useful. Apple should incorporate something like this in the iOS and pay royalties to Henry. The app has some limitations due to Apples own very tight constraints, but it lets you break the iPhone out of its "sandbox" safely. Tip for getting the ftp connection in Cyberduck: Omit the numbers following the colon when you type the ftp address in the Server field. Instead, put these numbers in the Port field. (At least, thats what worked for me; if it doesnt for you, leave the Port as the default 21.) Major wish: landscape mode in list view, so that you can see longer file names Minor wish: fit-to-view display in portrait as well as landscape mode of slideshow Possibly impossible wish: a comments field that carries over to the comments in the Macs file system. (But this might make the app incompatible with Windows.)

Doesnt Use Native iPhone Folder

The app does not work off of the native iPhone folders, but creates its own set of folders so that you basically have your photos in two places. Your pics still reside in your native iPhone app, unsorted. I dont need my pics in two places. Surely theres a way to create subfolders on the iPhone without having to do it on your PC first then sync?

not what I hoped for

This app copies photos from photo albums to its own albums. I had hoped that the albums and sub-albums created by this app would be directly represented in the stock apple albums app rather than in a separate memory and organization space.

Does exactly what I need it to do

I just wanted a way to organize my photos easily so that when showing them to friends no one would need to browse all my photos or wait for me to do the same...boring! I was headed to a college reunion and put a few pictures of my family in an album for easy viewing...perfect! 4 stars because its movements are choppy, and the slide shows are not consistently timed but hopefully the creators are working on those issues. Great to have a place to organize my pictures!

Most usefull photo organizer around!

I dont usually bother to rate apps but after seeing this one at only 3 stars I had to speak up. Its Great!!! After trying 5 or so prganizers I found this and havent bothered looking for anything else. There were a couple things I really needed- #1 the ability to rename the jpgs right in the app. # 2 After downloading Cyberduck to your comp you can transfer them wirelessly to it in seconds. There are other glossier cutsier organizers out there, but this is the Best most usefull photo management tool!

Takes lots of memory

I bought this app to sort through about 100 photos Id taken at the lake. At first it didnt want to import multiple photos, but I solved the problem by closing all the other apps on my phone. It also forces you to enable Location Services, which seems pretty skeezy. Other than those two issues, it does what it says on the tin.

No way ... Misses the boat completely

Does NOT allow you to sort photos. Sort all day long, then go to Photos ... your images are all still in the Camera Roll, not sorted. Everyones comments saying this is deceptive are correct.

Thumbnail Regeneration

It did exactly what I needed... "Sort Photos into separate folders" HOWEVER.... I wish I knew that I should not delete my original photos from the i-phone camera roll. After that I was experimenting (not a good thing) and I pushed the "THUMBNAIL REGENERATION" button in settings and 75% of folders/pictures were erased.... And forever gone. RECOMMENDATION: add warning/definition to what the THUMBNAIL REGENERATION button does. So, I am biased with only a 2-Star because my pics are eternally deleted BUT the app effectively sorts into folders... otherwise this app would have revived a 4.5.

Succeeds where Apple fails

Listen, people, there is no way a 3rd party app can change the way Apple manages the Camera Roll! The only way to have manageable albums is to do what this app does: create copies of the photos in a nice, simple hierarchical file system. It is TOTALLY UNFAIR to rate this app 1 star because Apple screwed up their photo management! I cant speak to crash issues and bugs, as I have not had problems on my iPhone 4. To address some of the other complaints: • There is no batch rename, but photos can be renamed individually. • Sort pics by renaming them - they will be sorted alphanumerically. • Copying pics into Photo-Sort does not remove from Camera Roll. If you choose to delete the dups, you can copy them back to Camera Roll at any time. Multiple pics can be copied at once in either direction. There is room for improvement in the user interface (drag and drop sorting, for instance) but this is a solid app that provides function not available anywhere else. Note that the new IOS5 album feature does NOT support albums that are independent of the Camera Roll, sorting, or renaming. If you want real album functionality, you need this app.
